This morning I am grateful for my wife Zoe who I think is wonderful because of her capacity to love, laugh, and learn. I am grateful for our housemate Sam who I think is wonderful because of his gifts and commitment to service. I am grateful for our cats Dr Wally and Mr Mittens who I think are wonderful just because they are but because they teach me valuable lessons in life about balance, rest, creativity, self-expression, and love. I am grateful for the smell of fresh brewed coffee on a morning when I am tired and did not sleep well because it is waking me up and reminding me to be grateful for another day and the sense of smell. I am grateful for the sound of water in our sink as it reminds me to be grateful for indoor plumbing and all those that have given across the centuries that I may do nothing more than turn a faucet.
