Use it!

October 7, 2014 Sharon Jacobson

In this month’s newsletter, I gave us a few things about self-worth to consider. I asked us to think about whether we knew God loved us just as we are. I suggested we think about whether we see life challenges as confining or empowering. I encouraged us to remember to periodically empty out the emotional, mental, and spiritual clutter and keep ourselves from becoming a “dumpster.” Finally, I challenged us to remember that we are of value to ourselves, others, and our community.

Sometimes it may feel like your life is not where you would like it to be. Most of us, myself included, have those moments. It is then I remember the words of Ram Dass who said, “Everything in your life is there as a vehicle for your transformation. Use it!” Life is a veritable toolbox to help you achieve whatever you desire to achieve in your life. Use it!

Sometimes it means we have to change toolboxes. Some of us have been using a toolbox that disempowers us. It is the box of excuses, torch songs, pity parties, doubting thoughts, negative words and behaviors, energy zappers, and everything, which keeps us from building the life we desire and achieving whatever we desire in life. It is time to put those tools in the trash. Do not even consider giving them away, selling them, or donating them to the local thrift store. Some things do not need to be recycled or reused.

Start using the toolbox of life, which is a gift from the Infinite. The amazing thing about the Universe’s toolbox is that it is never ending, constantly refilling, and worthy of sharing. Even if you are missing the tool you need, the universe may send someone into your life who has just the tool you need to achieve what you are seeking. So start using that positive energy, inspiration, motivation. Throw away the excuses as to why you can’t and begin building your life on reason and stories about what you can. Stop being the one who can’t and begin acting like the little engine that knew it could.

Stop waiting for others to live and construct your life for you. Remember that you are worthy of having the life you desire. Do not let the lies or negativity of yourself or others stop you. Each day you have the opportunity to open a toolbox of possibilities, which have all been given so that you can build the life you dream of and desire. So open it, use them, and create the life of your dreams. Each moment you have a choice as to whether or not to use the toolbox from the Divine. Are you going to use it or not? My choice is use it! What’s yours?
