At the end of every Qi Gong set, we always say I am Qi and Qi is in me. Then our Qi Gong teacher, Mary Meissner says it in Chinese, but I am not even going to try to spell that out. While it means that I am energy and energy is in me, it reminds me of something greater. For me, the Divine is love and love is energy. Therefore I am the Divine energy and the Divine energy is in me. It is not just in one thing or one person, the Divine energy, the Divine Qi is in everything.
Perhaps that is what Deepak Chopra was trying to get at in a story he tells about the revered saint Sri Ramakrishna. "In the last century in India there was a revered saint, Sri Ramakrishna, who held the post of priest in a large, wealthy temple. It was his duty to place offerings every day before the statue of Kali, one of the guises of the divine mother, the Goddess.
"Having done this day after day, Ramakrishna became very devoted to the divine mother. Then one day a change occurred: 'It was suddenly revealed to me,' he says, 'that not just the statue but everything in the room was made of pure spirit. The bowl, the utensils, the floor and ceiling were all manifestations of the same thing. When I realized this, I began to act like someone insane. I began throwing flowers everywhere and worshiping everything. Worship, worship, worship in all directions.' "[1]
What would happen in our lives, if we had the same epiphany? If we realized that everything and everywhere were manifestations of Divine energy. How would we behave? How would we treat the objects in our home?
