The World
I read this Sufi teaching once about the world.
If you put the world between you and God,
the world becomes a spiritual obstacle;
if you use the world to remember God,
the world becomes your spiritual friend.
Today, as I go through this crisis,
I am witnessing that the world is my friend.
The world is surrounding me with those who
are surrounding me with love,
encouraging me to stay strong,
offering assistance,
holding me in prayer,
telling me I will make it through,
teaching me to accept all the love
that the world has for me.
I am so much better at giving
then receiving,
but right now the world
is teaching me to humble myself
and allow the world to give to me
as I have given to others.
