Accountabilitity

August 9, 2024 Sharon Jacobson

Accountability

Can we please hold ourselves accountable?
I see this lack of accountability
all over the place.
My students who like to blame me
for not understanding that they were on vacation
for a week during a four week summer intensive.
My son,
who wants to blame everyone else for his behaviors
and not look at what he needs to do differently.
Those who say it is God’s fault
we have climate issues,
political issues,
natural disasters,
global starvation,
and the extinction of species
yet do not want to look at their own complicity
and look at our accountability as a human species.
We would much prefer to blame the Divine
then examine our own choices as consumers
or our own lifestyles.
What are we doing to hold ourselves accountable
and to make a difference in the world
and the legacy we are leaving behind.

100% of our donations go to support our ability to provide low and no cost offerings to those seeking to grow and evolve spiritually.

Being a Janitor

March 15, 2023 Sharon Jacobson

Being a Janitor

I am the janitor of my life.
It came to me while
I was drinking a hot cup of soup
and my glasses fogged.
I was the one who caused my glasses to fog
and I am the one who had to give them time to defog
and to clean up after myself.
I have learned that sometimes I need to take them off
and just do one thing at a time.
Sometimes I create messes
when I do not need to.
I am the janitor,
the one who keeps my life in good condition and well maintained.
I am the one who has to vacuum and sweep up the debris,
mop up my life and keep it sanitized,
remove the trash,
recycle that which can still be used,
and keep the windows in my life
clean and clear,
just like my glasses
which steam up when I am drinking my soup.

100% of God our donations go to support our ability to provide low and no cost offerings to those seeking to grow and evolve spiritually.
