Losing the Carbs
So many of my friends and customers are trying to eat healthier these days. Many of them are asking for low carb or keto friendly diets. My friend Lisa asked me for some ideas on how to cut the carbs all day long. So let’s start with breakfast.
One place to start is with her brownie pan. It is one of those products I love because it helps with portion control. So one of my favorite time saving tricks is to make a whole weeks worth of breakfast squares to go at one time. While I will share one recipe link, the cool thing is that you can make these breakfast squares any way you want. So easy, just beat your eggs, pour equal amounts into your brownie pan and then add whatever low carb toppings you want into each well. Bake, cool, pack up and heat up later as you are ready for them.

One of the things many of my friends have started eating is lettuce wraps and this is one of their favorite from our site

I love pizza where the crust is made with vegetables
Sometimes it is hard to know what low carb means. For example, for diabetics it can meet that a meal has less than 45 grams. However, if you are trying to lose weight they suggest 15 to 30 grams per meal, but if you have a passive life, like me they suggest about 15. Other sites I have seen have suggested no more then 60 grams of carbs per day, so I have several recipes I want to share, but have limited them to those with 20 grams of carbs or less.

I hope you enjoy making some of these. I have tried to make some of them vegan version so Zoe and I can try them, but some of them I have not been able to do. Who knows maybe one week, I will post some of my favorite vegan recipes for those who want to incorporate more plant based meals in your diet.
Our thing I have done is to increase our use of our air fryer. It is awesome because you can airfry so many veggies that are considered low carb. Tender vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, zucchini, and asparagus generally fry up in 10 to 15 minutes on air fry setting. I have found if I toss or brush them in a little olive oil and seasoning they crisp up best. You can air fry frozen veggies, well any listed above, and just add about 5 extra minutes for them to thaw. There are other veggies like root vegetables and winter squashes that you can air fry, but they are higher in carbs.
You can also spiralize all kinds of low and higher carb veggies to make noodles. Our Veggie Spiralizer comes in handy for making zucchini noodles and our Deluxe Cooking Blender is my fastest and neatest way to make cauliflower rice. I just add my florets and water and pulse and then drain. In a matter of a few minutes, I have cauliflower rice.
