Kitchen of Enjoyment

The kitchen for me
is a place of enjoyment.
it is where I go in the morning
and am surrounded by the
Universe’s love for me and others.
I get to gaze on to the beauty of our
prayer and meditation garden and
see myself in communion with the Ultimate.
I get to work with the ancestors of the original creations
that came before human beings.
I get to water the herbs I am growing
and check on the vegetables which have
survived despite our mistreatment of the earth.
I get to experience the Ultimate with all my senses
as I plan, prep, and cook for myself
and those I love.

I get to see the rainbow of colors in vegetables and fruits
and celebrate their diversity.
I get to experience the varying tastes within a vegetable,
like my new celebration of cauliflower leaves.
I get to infuse love into all I make and then
watch people experience it with each bite they eat.
These are just some of the reason
my kitchen is a place of enjoyment.

Kitchen Classroom

Kitchen Classroom

The kitchen is my classroom,
well one of them.
It is one of the spaces where I open myself up
and allow myself to learn about the world.
I may not be able to easily travel anymore,
but my mind and my palette can take me places
and allow me to learn and embark on new adventures.
Each day,
each meal,
is an opportunity to learn.
I get to try new cuisines
and how they celebrate vegan dishes.
I get to learn more about types of cooking
and what to use when.
I get to learn the difference between
forged and stamped cutlery
and how to use the knives I have
to chop, dice, mince, julienne and brunois.
Perhaps that is why I love
being a Pampered Chef consultant.
Every day I am learning,
growing,
and enriching my life
and the lives of others
one meal and one memory
at a time.
