If you can Imagine it, then

February 28, 2016 Sharon Jacobson

Dear God,

This past month I have done so much thinking about imagination. I thought I had reflected on it from so many perspectives, but this week I have come to realize that I had yet to imagine the amazing people who would come into my life and touch me in ways that I could not even imagine.

So often, we hear about all the hate, violence and fear in this world. We hear about people who do things to others that cause our hearts to be heavy. It is so easy to allow the news to help us envision a world that is negative, hate filled, and beyond repair. This week, however, has served as a living testimony of the world I think you imagined when you first created us. I have experienced unconditional love and support from people I know as well as people I have never met or barely know.

I was going through a challenging time, as you know, and I reached out in faith and prayer to those I felt led to and it was from the ones I knew least and least expected that offerings of support flowed. As I thanked them, they thanked me. See in our own ways we were the answer to each other’s prayers, but you already knew that didn’t you. You who were the Ultimate Consciousness, you could see that which we could never imagine.

You created ways out of no ways, removed obstacles, cleared paths, and said see I am about to do a new thing, but this time I watched intently and I saw it. I saw a person I love dearly grow by leaps and bounds in her self-confidence. I witnessed a group of people work together to make something happen and know we could do anything if we worked as a team. I saw you create what I could only imagine.

You reminded me about the power of my faith in you and how together we can create whatever I can imagine. This week reminded me of the closing scene of the Never Ending Story. It is as if I was Bastian and you were the Princess of Fantasia, you told me to believe and imagine and I did. As I sit here tonight and give thanks for all the blessings in my life, I have to count amongst them my faith in you, your trust in me, and the gift and ability to imagine that which I knew without your guidance and support I could achieve. Thank you for helping me to imagine and manifest what a few weeks ago seemed like a fantasy.

Thank you,

Sharon
