Spiritually Practicing

August 24, 2026 Sharon Jacobson

Spiritually Practicing
What have you been practicing the longest?
They asked me.
I talked about my daily rituals,
my time writing in my journals,
my gratitude, inspiration, intention and joy journals.
What did you practice before that?
Like when you are a kid?
I would think about a practice,
and then I would push myself back in time.
Ultimately, I came back to the moment
I was born
and realized,
I have spent my entire life
in the spiritual practice of aging.
Aging,
is not just something I am practicing now,
it is a life long journey
we practice throughout our lives.
Each stage of our lives is a time of renewal,
inner exploration
and a quest for spiritual wisdom.
Each moment is an opportunity
to soak in the lifetime of lessons
we have acquired along the journey.
Our lives are filled with memories
which fill us with gratitude and honesty
and lessons on how to learn from
that which we value and that which we regret.
The rules of the denomination
are not what we practice in our spiritual journey,
it is the moments where we have these
AHA moments,
when we experience something which

challenges us to grow and evolve
in a constant state of transformation.
It is those moments that we grow and evolve
while meditating and being mindful
in each of life’s precious moments.
It is each moment,
I remember to give thanks
for the abundance of gifts
that come with each stage of aging.
It is what I practice and experience
in each moment of love, kindness
and my ability to reflect on them and remember.
It is what I practice while experiencing community
or isolation from
and the connections which guide me on my journey
and remind me that each moment
of my life
is an opportunity to practice
being the best I can be.
Aging is not just about
this phase of my life.
It is about each moment
I have lived
from my birth and then beyond.

100% of our donations go to support our ability to provide low and no cost offerings to those seeking to grow and evolve spiritually.
