It’s Not Always Easy

October 5, 2026 Sharon Jacobson

It’s Not Always Easy

It’s so easy,
they said to me.
What was easy for them,
was not easy for me.
You’re just not trying hard enough.
You’re not X
or Y
or Z.
You are making this so much harder
than it needs to be.
What was easy for them,
was not easy for me.
This reminded me that
what is easy for me,
is not easy for others.
Rather then blame them
and shame them,
and say what they are doing wrong,
perhaps I can treat them
as I wish they had treated me
with patience and compassion.
Whether things are easy or hard,
let’s encourage and support each other
and not leave anyone asking
where is the love.
