Beyond Acceptance

July 5, 2024 Sharon Jacobson

Beyond Acceptance

The thing I love most about my friends
are those things that make them unique.
I love those idiosyncrasies that just make them who they are.
It’s not that I accept them for who they are,
I just love them unconditionally.
I struggle with acceptance,
because it suggests there is something I need to accept.
I need to accept your idiosyncrasies
or other things that make you who you are.
Acceptance may help us build bridges
but when I love you unconditionally,
it means I love you for who you are.
We are friends because we know how to put up with each other
in good times and bad,
We are friends because we are not
make up kings or queens with each other.
Our friendship is real because we
grow with each other
love each other,
and celebrate each other
just as we are.
There is nothing to accept
because our friendship is based on unconditional love.
We never ask or suggest that
we be something other then who we are.
I love you with all your idiosyncrasies
just like you love me with mine.
There is nothing to accept,
but so much to celebrate.
So thank you for being you
and letting me love you just as you are.

Celebrating Weirdness

June 15, 2024 Sharon Jacobson

Celebrating Weirdness

I am on the verge of turning 68 years old
and I have been told I have a lot of qualities,
but for my own reasons,
my favorite is weird.
Weird is one of those words that can mean so many things.
There is the dangerous weird,
but there are those who others consider
odd or unconventional
and I am ok with that.

I don’t think most people see me as
the dangerous or psycho weird,
but more the odd or unconventional.
We tend to stay away from those who are weird,
different from us,
and I know how that feels,
because to some
throughout my life
I have been weird.
Being weird, however,
is about me loving me unconditionally
and being able to love
the weird in everyone I meet.
We all have something odd about us.
When we can embrace our oddness,
we can embrace the weird in everyone.
Celebrating weirdness
reminds me to invite the odd and the unconventional
into my life.
As I celebrate our weirdness
I come to a deeper relationship with the Ultimate
who created each of us and our weirdness
Celebrating my weirdness
is about celebrating all of me
and all of who I was created to be.
Besides if I weren’t the weird
you have come to know,
you may not love me.
So I will celebrate my weirdness
and you can celebrate yours.

I Am Unique

January 8, 2021 Sharon Jacobson

I am Unique

There is not,
never has been,
never will be
anyone who is exactly like me.
I am a Divine original.
I was designed by the Divine
and nobody else is exactly like me.
The same is true for each of you.
We are all unique and precious individuals.
We all have something which makes us unique.
Even when you cannot see the uniqueness in you,
others can.
You are worthy of being celebrated.
Even when others are not celebrating you,
Celebrate yourself.
Celebrate your preciousness.
Celebrate your uniqueness.
Celebrate your worthiness.

Celebrate the Moment

June 26, 2020 Sharon Jacobson

Happiness,
like other feelings,
is a moment.
It is not a wave,
it is not a length of time,
it is not unending.
It is like a wave.
It comes,
we experience it,
and it is gone.
Then it comes again.
In that moment
we celebrate the way we feel.
We celebrate the
happiness,
the experience,
the situation, and
all that is.
It is that moment,
when the joy spreads through us
and fills us with that feeling
which only happiness can bring.
It is then that we sit and
celebrate the moment.

The Good News

April 4, 2014 Sharon Jacobson

This morning something challenged me to acknowledge a different aspect of negativity in my life. I have been intentional about working on keeping the 1st agreement and being impeccable with my thoughts and words. I have been intentional about avoiding gossip, criticism, thinking negative things about others or myself. I have been intentional about sending love, light, and positive energy to those who do not appear to be vibrating at the same level that I am, or who appears to be in need of healing.

Then it hit me, who am I to determine they are in need of healing or not vibrating at the same level then I am. How do I know that? How do I know what someone can or cannot do? If they think they cannot do something, then that is about them. If I think they cannot do something, or I cannot do something, then that is about me. Why would I contribute to the belief that something is not possible? Why am I judging others and their abilities?
