God has a
real sense of humor. A few weeks ago, I talked about being released from fear. All
I can say is that it was true for the moment. Since then I have had to face
waves of fear that have risen from inside me. I had to look in what I call the
mirror of truth and see through the fears, which have come rising to the
surface. Sometimes it has felt like they were going, “so you thought we were
gone, guess again. We’re back.” First, I had to work through my fears of
anybody doing a healing on me. I had to face the fear that is within me related
to “healings.” There was this immense power and clarity that came as I moved
through that fear. The healing I had a few weeks ago, was healing and
liberating. The other night the same person did another healing session on me
and she said the energy was flowing more evenly. Hearing that news was not
surprising, after all the first time my body was filled with fear about what
might happen, what could happen, how I might respond.God has a

For whatever reason this morning, I found myself thinking about this line from star wars – may the force be with you. I can’t remember the last time I saw a Star Wars movie; they were never my favorites. It is funny though how lines from movies you have never seen somehow manage to get into the recesses of your memory banks. I am not even sure what triggered that thought for me. Maybe it was the conversation I just had with Reggie about Tim Tebow, Louis Farrakhan, dogs, and the moon. Who knows? What I know is that the force is with me or as Zoë would sing if she were awake with me this morning, “I’ve got the power.”

I found myself laughing uncontrollably for some reason when I read assignment 3. As I sat there and watched my cats first stare me down trying to figure out who was going to win the battle for the next serving of Friskie’s treats. And of course, yes they won. They always do. Once they had received their blessings, they ate them, although I am not sure that they said a prayer of thanksgiving or not. Ate them, and then began the ritual of stretching and cleaning and licking themselves in a diversity of position. Then they stretched out in their respective spaces, got into what I am assuming was a comfortable position in their favorite sleeping areas in our office and settled in for a good nights nap. That is until they wake up at 2 am and do the cat races up and down the hallway. I am sure there is a spiritual lesson to be learned in there, but I am not sure that at present I have the eyes to see it.
