What a Way to Make a Living
I was reading this prompt
“what a way to make a living”
and all of a sudden I could hear the song
working 9 to 5
and realized I have no idea anymore
what it is like to work 9 to 5
and not even sure others would say
I am making a living.
What I do know is that my day
and my life are full.
They are filled with opportunities
to be of service to others,
filled with opportunities to teach,
to transform,
to help myself and others
grow and evolve.
I rarely work 9 to 5
and I am not sure I even could anymore.
I am, however, making a living.
I may never be wealthy,
at least not financially,
but I will always have enough.
My wealth comes from
how I make a living.
I make a living helping others
and serving the Ultimate.
I make a living focused on being mindful
and reflecting on what is right.
I make a living by meeting with the one
who has supervised and managed me for 70 years
I make a living by using my skills to help others,
teaching, sharing, and making a difference.
I make a living by teaching others
to build bridges that unite
and not walls that divide.
I make a living by knowing
I am making a difference
and for me,
there is no better way to make a living.
