In My Museum

December 11, 2023 Sharon Jacobson

In My Museum

I love the memories that live
in my heart, mind, and soul.
I began thinking about them as museums,
while watching a video on a museum of banned books.
I have memories that should be banned,
but not for some of the reasons books are.
They remain,
because they have helped me become who I am.
However, my museums are also filled
with memories of love.
Sometimes I just want to stop what I am doing
and go to these museums.
Like the museums of art, science and history
I enjoy visiting,
my museums are filled with collections
of memories which have left a precious memory behind.
I love going,
browsing,
taking in,
and reflecting
on each piece in the collection.
Sometimes when I look at a memory,
I see something new in it.
In each piece,
I find something to be grateful for,
something that warms me
and sometimes memories that bring me to tears.
I know I cannot live in my museums,
but they are an amazing place to visit
and remember
and give thanks for each collection,
individually and in its entirety.

I am Rich

July 18, 2023 Sharon Jacobson

I am Rich

As a young girl,
I remember a church song
where they sang
let the poor say “I am rich.”
I asked a friend’s mother why
and she explained people get their riches in two ways.
She said some people collect material wealth.
They collect riches from people, places and things.
She said others,
get their wealth
from what they see,
what they experience,
the treasures they discover in life,
the knowledge they gain,
the testimony they have
of the miracles and presence
of the Divine in their lives.
Their richness does not come from
what they own,
but what they know.

Celebrate Yourself

September 6, 2022 Sharon Jacobson

Celebrate Yourself

When you look in the mirror
what do you see?
Perhaps more importantly
what do you say?
Do you speak
affirmations to yourself
and tell yourself you are amazing just as you are.
Do you give yourself a high five
for something amazing you have done
in your life.
Do we do as Walt Whitman did
and say “I celebrate myself.”
What if we celebrated the beauty
in which we were created?
What if we celebrated our achievements,
no matter how tiny?
What if we found a reason each day to celebrate
our life, our experiences, and our friends.
What if we took a moment,
like now,
to celebrate something
amazing in our lives.
Just stop for a moment
and say
I celebrate myself.

100% of God our donations go to support our ability to provide low and no cost offerings to those seeking to grow and evolve spiritually.

Trust Me

I say I trust God,
But do i.
I say I am listening,
But am i.
I say I feel God’s presence,
But do i.
I say I can smell God around,
But do i.
I say I can taste God in everything,
But do i
I say I can see God,
But can i.

Life Lessons

May 22, 2017 Sharon Jacobson

One of the quotes I come back to repeatedly in my own journey are the words of Iyanla Vanzant who taught me to give thanks for those who get on my last nerve. Each of them in their own way is helping me to learn something about myself. So often, when we find someone difficult to deal with, we focus our energy on how difficult they are.

One of the things I have come to realize is that it often times it is those people who are here to teach me a lesson. Sometimes they are challenging me to look at when in my life I have been that way. As much as I would like to say I have never been a pain in someone’s life, I am sure I have and will be, albeit intentionally or not. Being able to look at what it is I find so difficult helps me to see how I have done something in my own life. When I work on my own forgiveness for ever having been difficult to interact with, I come to realize the person I am interacting with now is not quite as difficult as I had originally imagined.
