Because I Love You

January 6, 2025 Sharon Jacobson

Because I Love You

Because I love you,
is what I say to my wife,
to my friends
and to all those I truly love
when I want them to know
that our relationship is about unity.
It is about my honoring all they are feeling.
Because I love you,
I want to share the joyous moments in your life,
but I also want to stand by you in your moments of fear,
of worry, and the moments you just want to cry.
Because I love you,
I stand by you
in all life brings us
and guides us through.
I am with you
on the days you are healthy
and on those you are not.
Because I love you,
I know when you need
that little something
that warms your heart and soul.
Because I love you,
I work to understand you
and honor all your feelings.
Because I love you,
I face everything with you we rise.
The intimacy we share,
is because we honor each other
and journey with each other.
I know you do this because
you love me and
I am present
because I love you.

Us

Us

I love you.
There are so few people I say that to.
You and the Ultimate.
There is something about sitting with you
and listening to your deepest thoughts
and challenges.
As I sit here and just spend time with you
it is like music to my ears,
and in the process I feel so blessed.
It is those opportunities to be present,
to be of service,
to know that I am still
of use to the Ultimate.
I know we feel the same,
relationships like ours are rare
and gifts from above.
Giving thanks seems so inadequate,
but it is all I can do,
for all that you are to me
and all you allow me to be for the one
who is always there for me.
The more we surrender to each other,
share,
grow,
evolve, and
be ever present,
the closer we become
not just to each other
but to the One.

100% of God our donations go to support our ability to provide low and no cost offerings to those seeking to grow and evolve spiritually.

The Ones I Love

The Ones I Love

I have been thinking about my friends,
the ones who love me
and the ones I love.
What I love about my friends
is that they love me
unconditionally.
I have more than my share of imperfections,
but my friends love me for who I am,
with all my idiosyncracies.
Friends are just that friends,
they love and accept us for who we are.
If we love someone unconditionally,
then we do not try to change them,
make them over,
or do anything other then
accept them and love them unconditionally.
When I think about
ones I love,
all I can think about
is how blessed I am
to have people to love
and who love me in return.

Hospitality

January 20, 2020 Sharon Jacobson

There is a peace which surpasses understanding
when we open our hearts to strangers.
We want to draw a line between us and them.
We would rather turn away or disconnect,
then build a bridge.
We are focused on walls which separate,
then bridges that connect.

Hospitality is about building bridges.
It is about living in a way which opens us up
which challenges us to act out of love.
It is about taking the risk
and finding joy in the unknown.
It is about finding positive energy
where we sought not to look.

Hospitality
is about love,
light,
positive energy,
joy,
courage, and
love.
Hospitality is
intentional
and radical.
It is about seeing
the Divine
in the stranger
and the strange.

It was decades ago
when she left three little pieces of paper
on my treadmill that said
I
Love
You

They still are with me
in my drawer.
They are sacred, holy and
a paper tabernacle
holding the gift of love
from the one who loves me
unconditionally

Her notes are not alone.
They are accompanied
by sacred notes from others
images,
gifts of sacred love from others

Through writing we can express
our intimacy,
our friendship,
our love,
what others mean to us.
Our letters have the potential
to become someone’s
paper tabernacle

A holy space
where the sacred gift of love is stored
where one keeps reminders of what one means,
the friendship we share,
the intimate moments,
which bond us together.

They are more than just pieces of paper.
They are sacred and holy.
They are paper tabernacles.

Silence and Tea

April 3, 2017 Sharon Jacobson

I always tell folks that it takes a long time to grow an old friend. Friendships require time. It takes time to develop the kind of intimacy with someone where you can stand with them in silence and still enjoy the company. Silence, waiting, time and respect for the other’s space are all elements of friendship.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is our silence. My days are filled with me talking to people in some way, shape, or form. So the greatest gift my wife can give me sometimes is the gift of silence. The time to just be and not have to speak. We can sit next to each other and just be. Even though we may not be speaking a word, the communication is powerful and loving.
