Caring for Others

November 3, 2023 Sharon Jacobson

Caring for Others

I am ever reminded of the teaching,
in so many spiritual writings,
about caring for each other
and loving one’s neighbor.
Sometimes that can seem harder then it is.
What if we simply asked
How are you
and then actively listened to what they said.
They may not say anything
because they are used to not being heard.
What if instead we asked
what are you going through right now
and then listened
as if we honestly cared about them.
How is your family?
During this season of tensions,
globally and locally,
what if we strove to show concern
for those we know
and those we need to know better.
What I honestly want to know is
what are you going through right now?

Sharing is Caring

October 28, 2022 Sharon Jacobson

Sharing is Caring

Sharing is caring,
I first heard that when someone wanted
me to shre my food with them.
They wanted to try what I was eating.
But for me sharing is caring
has less to do with me
or even at the people at my table,
but more about the people who are not
at my table and maybe not
at anyone’s table.
Sharing is caring
is about me caring for those who have nothing
for those who are hungry
it is about recognizing my blessings
and sharing them with others
who are a part of my human family
sharing is caring
is about me giving back in
gratitude for the one who shared with me.
Sharing is not just about my food,
but about any of my abundances.
I share because I care,
because the Ultimate cares about me.

100% of God our donations go to support our ability to provide low and no cost offerings to those seeking to grow and evolve spiritually.

Becoming

July 29, 2022 Sharon Jacobson

Becoming

I close my eyes and think about my love
and how we have managed
to grow and evolve these past decades.
I close my eyes and think of her
and I think about all she has done for me.
She has given me everything I need
to grow and evolve,
to bloom,
to shed, and
transform.
She has given me everything I need emotionally,
mentally,
physically, and
spiritually.
She always seems to know
who I am and what I need
and the nurtures me
in a way that surpasses understanding.
Then I wonder if I do the same for her
and I pray I do.
All I want is to help her grow and
for the world to see her beauty.
I want to help her have access to
 everything she needs
to become all she was created to be.
When I look at her
I see a part of her that not everyone
gets to see and
I know that when she looks
in my eyes
she sees what I need
even when I can’t.
What if we each took the time
to gaze into our partner’s souls
and see what they truly need from us
and nurture each other’s souls.
What if we helped each other bloom
and share our beauty and gifts with the world
Let’s help each other
become the gift to the universe
we were created to be.

Caring for my Heart

June 21, 2019 Sharon Jacobson

Go to the gym
because your body needs
exercise.
Eat healthy.
All things in moderation.
These are a few of the things
I hear about caring for my body.

My heart needs more than
a cardio workout.
It needs love.
It needs to be touched,
caressed,
molded,
educated, and
refined.

It needs words,
actions,
feelings,
sounds,
images,
scents,
and ideas
which reach in and
caress my heart.

It comes to me through prayer,
meditation,
music.
art,
poetry,
and the whispers from above.

Sometimes it is the
creations of others
and sometimes it is the
conversations of my soul.
My poetry is
one way I speak
to my heart
and hopefully
to the hearts of others.

Sharing is Caring

March 21, 2014 Sharon Jacobson

So as you know I have a routine spiritual practice each day, but periodically, I feel led to draw a card from one of my decks for inspiration and meditation. This morning, I drew the Queen of Fire from the Osho Zen Tarot deck. This card came bearing the message that I have so much more to share with the world than I realize!

Sometimes it is easy for me to forget that my small, positive actions, words, and deeds have a huge impact on the “big picture.” I am not always conscious of the ways what I do and create has a radiating effect on the world. Yesterday, one of my students shared with me how they believe the legacy I am creating will continue to influencing the planet long after I have forgotten about it or no longer exist on this plane. This card reminded me that my contribution doesn’t need to be some big flashy deal to have a transformative impact.
